Hi friends!

Happy Holidays to everyone out there! I hope everyone's Thanksgiving was one filled with lots of food, friends and good times with the family. I was unable to go home but I got to spend my break in one of my favorite places ever: Oklahoma! I know, I know what you're thinking: Oklahoma? What is a girl from Rhode Island doing thinking that Oklahoma is one of her favorite places on earth?!? Well, so you have to know, I LOVE to travel and at Harding I've had the opporunity to visit so many different places. Oklahoma just happens to be one of those places. And it is one of my favorites! I first went to Oklahoma in the summer of 2005, the summer after my freshman year. I was given the opportunity to be a counselor at Quartz Mountain Christian Camp in Lonewolf, OK. And it was quite possibly one of my most favorite and gratifying experiences in my life. I met so many people and experienced a world very similiar to mine yet ENTIRELY DIFFERENT. And I loved every single moment of it! We went hiking nearly everyday and the girls in my cabin were so amazing. That's when I first fell in love with Oklahoma.
Then I got to go home with one of my close friends who I actually became friends with during my European travels with Harding's study abroad program in France/Switzerland. That was the second time I fell in love with Oklahoma. That weekend we went fourwheeling basically ALL weekend and I met some of the nicest people ever in the small town of Talihina, Oklahoma. That's where I spent my Thanksgiving and although it was sad not being able to go home it was still really wonderful to experience home cooked meals and sleeping until noon and doing nothing but watching movies all day. It was very relaxing and just the thing I needed to get me through these 3 weeks before break.
Speaking of which, finals week is approaching quickly and yikes that means lots of late nighters after of course attending every basketball game I can possibly attend. This might seem crazy, but you do not understand, if you have never attended a Harding Basktaball game in your life than you need to get on over to this campus during basketball season and do it soon! Our games are like none other and hey, a girl needs to set priorities right? It's during these weeks that I hear the call of yummy coffee and kettle corn (my study break snacks of choice) to keep me up at night. In fact, I think I'm going to head on over to Java City right now and spend the last of my DCB on a caramel macchiato to help me make it through the rest of the day. Until next time--

ps I'm sorry about my post before! I do not remember what chapel I was referring to, I'm pretty sure it was one of the technology chapels but I'm going to get back to you guys about this, sorry!
